(Singer, Composer, Arranger, Multi-Instrumentalist, Script Writer, Screenplay Writer, Editor, Graphic Designer , Director, Singer, Musician, Music Composer, Filmmaker and much more, Shuvayu Bhattacharjee is born and brought up in Kolkata. He inherited music from his maternal house. His maternalgrandfather was the musical maestro, Late Pandit Hari Bhushan Bose. He started learningmusic, specially Tabla , from the age of 3 years and received teachings from many renownedgurus like Late Hirendra Nath Ganguly (Hiru Babu), Late Ardhendu Ghosh, LateRadhakanta Nandi, Late Mahadeb Bhattacharjee, Late Pranab Ganguly, Pt.KumarBose, Late Sujit Kr Das. Later at 9 years of age, he started to learn singing (Especially IndianClassical, Nazrul Geeti & Puratani Bangla Gaan) from Late Ajay Mukhopadhyay, later on helearned Nazrul Geeti & Ghazal form Mukut Chakraborty. From the age of 8 - 9, he hasplayed tabla at various Functions. & performed at various events as singer. While studyingin college in the 90s, he developed a liking to Western Music and was introduced to genres likejazz, blues, rock, country etc. He became the Lead Singer and Composer of the Bangla Band, Shorjontro, and worked with them for 10 years. He has performed with them in various functions, including college & TV shows. His first album, PURONO CHAAL, was released in 2008 through the record label Purple Music. From 2009 he started his career as a Composer & Sound Designer. Since then he has worked with various Album Companies and Album projects as Music Composer & Sound Designer, Produced Original Scores for Group Theatres, Web series, Telefilms, Short Films, Feature Films & Television channels. He has worked with Other Music Composers as music arranger & sound designer. He has composed & sung the East Bengal Club official theme song for 2012, and created original scores for different MNC brands in TV commercials. During this period, he was also developing his skills through different distance courses like Martin Scorsese at Master Class, Hans-Zimmer at Master Class and Audio Master Class which helped him to understand and work as an industry level sound engineer. In 2014 he directed his debut short film KI ASHE JAY, which has been telecasted on a satellite channel Kolkata TV. He then started exploring himself in the directorial field by making short films and documentary films. 8PM, Bublur Boi, Bhoyer Mukh, Sob Peyechir Desh, Masquerade etc some of these got international Festival entries too. His short poetry film, Kolkata Cocktail, was a full house show presented by ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations). It was much appreciated by renowned poets and intellectuals and was showcased internationally as well as in various festivals in and around India. His name got a place in Wikipedia as Poetry film maker. From 2021, Shuvayu started working with GBME as the Creative Head. He composes, sings, arranges music, writes stories & scripts for music videos. He directs, edits, does graphic design, and much more. He leads and drives the entire creative team from the front.
