Arijit Sarkar is a trained classical musician who is proficient in both classical and modern music. He was a committed and approachable music teacher who is keen to share his passion for music. He has achieved his master's degree in vocal music from the Rabindra Bharati University. He had been influenced by his aunt, Purna Ghosal, at the very early stage of his life. He acquired voice training from Saswati Chakraborty who was the disciple of Acharya Jayanta Bose. Then he was acquainted with his Guru Pandit NIHAR RANJAN BANERJEE in the fields of classical and semi classical music. Later he begun formal training from Shakhri Begum Memorial Trust, inheriting SEHSWAN gharana under the guidance of legendary hindustani classical vocalist USTAD RASHID KHAN. Then he had also been on the faculty at that academy where he taught classical music, voice training and instrumental lessons. Now he takes talim from Sri Biplab Mukherjee, an adherent of Pandit SAMARESH CHOWDHURY and SRI ANAND GUPTA.
